ABSTRACT

   Typhoid fever (TF) is an acute systemic infection caused by Salmonella Typhi, Salmonella Para Typhi A and Salmonella Para Typhi B. It is transmitted by the fecal oral route mainly via contaminated food and water. The developing countries have high rate of morbidity and mortality due to Typhoid fever, epidemics take place in developed world also. There are increased incidences of multi drug resistant in S. typhi strains that has further complicated its management and only a few antibiotics are now effective in treatment of typhoid. We report that the aqueous extracts of fruit peel Citrus sinensis (L.) confer anti typhoid activity against Salmonella Typhi, Salmonella Para Typhi A and Salmonella Para Typhi B respectively on comparison with ciprofloxacin.

ABSTRACT
  
Three simple, precise and economical UV methods have been developed for the estimation of Tamsulosin Hydrochloride in pure drug and tablet dosage form. Method A is Absorbance maxima method, Tamsulosin Hydrochloride has the absorbance maxima at 279.0 nm, Method B is the First order derivative spectra of drug showed a sharp peak at 298 nm, Method C is Area under curve, were the wavelength range selected at 298-263 nm. All the three methods obey’s Beer’s & Lambert’s law in concentration range of 1-6 µg/ml and distilled water was used as solvent the validation parameters like Linearity, precision & accuracy were applied to evaluate the developed method. The developed method can satisfactorily applied to routine estimation of Tamsulosin Hydrochloride in pure drug & tablet formulation.
