Typhoid fever (TF) is an acute systemic infection caused by Salmonella Typhi, Salmonella Para Typhi A and Salmonella Para Typhi B. It is transmitted by the fecal oral route mainly via contaminated food and water. The developing countries have high rate of morbidity and mortality due to Typhoid fever, epidemics take place in developed world also. There are increased incidences of multi drug resistant in S. typhi strains that has further complicated its management and only a few antibiotics are now effective in treatment of typhoid. We report that the aqueous extracts of fruit peel Citrus sinensis (L.) confer anti typhoid activity against Salmonella Typhi, Salmonella Para Typhi A and Salmonella Para Typhi B respectively on comparison with ciprofloxacin.

Spectrophotometric method for determination of Olmesartan Medoxomil (OLM) and Amlodipine Besylate (AML) in pharmaceutical formulation by simultaneous equation method was described. The sampling wavelengths selected for estimation of OLM and AML as 265 nm and 360 nm respectively. The system obeyed Beers law over concentration range of 2 to 32 µg ml -1and 2 to 20 µg ml -1 for OLM and AML. Results of tablet analysis in the range of 99.19 to 101.13% and 98.67 to 101.80% for OLM and AML, which indicate repeatability of the method. The recoveries from 98.99 to 101.26 % and 98.66 to 102.11 % for OLM and AML which do not differ from 100% showed there was no interference from common excipients indicates accuracy and reliability of the method. Standard deviation for tablet analysis by using methanol was ranging from 98.1 to101.09% for OLM and 98.86 to 101.08% for AML. This proves the ability of the method remains unaffected by small but deliberate changes in the conditions of analysis.
